Is this a 2.3 thing?
It used to be that you would make the hard reference in the
web.xml (the location), and then use a soft URI in the pages.
People often use the location for the URI, but I've always thought
that was sloppy.
Does the simplified configuration mean that deveopers lose

Thanks Ted. I disagree about the -1 thing though. We shouldn't be throwing
that around lightly. I think it's better to state disagreement and if it
comes to a vote use -1.

Yes it is a servlet 2.3 thing. You have to use the full uri if you want the
container to automatically find your taglibs.

Perhaps I am missing something as there has been a great deal of
discussion about allowing an action to forward outside of the container
from an action in struts-config.xml.
My question is what business issue are you attempting to solve when this
is so easily handled in the html/jsp itself. The
Why is this needed? Developers can post their patch to the bugzilla report

I think Steve means that there should be another way to flag a particular
bug as 'patch pending' or something like that.
It makes the 'query for open bugs' easier, because don't waste your time
reading through a bug to find out that it has a patch waiting to be tested
and/or applied.
