Yeah, I think you need a "git init" in that directory to make it an
actual git repository. Once that is done, Salvador's sequence should
work.

Thank you. I should have thought of that.

I am fine now.

Kind regards,

I've tested, and creating an empty repo in the directory is mandatory.

Run a plain "git init" in the desired empty folder before saving to
[my_divelog].

I've tried with a recent build (Apr-02) and worked like a charm.

Regards.

How can I save my divelog to a local git repository?

Sound like a good candidate for the FAQ.

Just like saving to a file but put the name of the desired repo
between brackets.

Eg:
- create a folder named "divelog_git"
- in subsurface, select "save as", move to the new folder, and name
the file [Willem].

I'm unable to remember if the repo needed to be manually created with
git before 2nd step, but I think it didn't.

Best regards.

Salva.

Salva,

Thanks very much. I tried this and it says "Unable to open git repository".

Kind regards,

before 2nd step, but I think it didn't.
