Hi there,

I asked almost the same question before, but only a few people answered...

I'm trying to figure out how much coverage we have for testing BLE support, but
at this point I can't really tell how many of us have access to such devices
(and which OSs they might be testing on).

So, could you please respond and tell me

- which BLE dive computer do you have access to
(So far only support Suunto EON Steel, Heinrich Weikamp OSTC 4,
Shearwater Perdix AI (and dual stack Perdix / Petrel 2), and Scubapro G2 --
if you have others, I'd love to know as well)

- which OSs can you test on

I'll start:

Suunto EON Steel
Shearwater Perdix AI
Shearwater Petrel 2 dual stack

Mac
Linux (only Fedora on a physical machine, BLE doesn't work in a VM) Windows
(currently an ancient netbook with BLE dongle) Android iOS

Thanks

Shearwater Perdix AI
Mac OS X 10.11.6, Macbook Pro 2010, using separate BLE dongle that came
with the Perdix.
Qt 5.9.1
Subsurface v4.6.4-848-g2a29d4a4

Test:
Initial download always fails (as already reported here), I need to first
scan and then select the device.
Succesfully downloads 5 dives, then Perdix reports "LOG ERROR: Timeout" and
Subsurface shows "Error\n Dive data import error"

After re-starting Bluetooth from Perdix and clicking "Retry dowload" from
Subsurface seems to continue and download more dives until finally popping
the "Error\nDive data import error" message.
This time no error messages on Perdix and all dives seems to be
successfully imported, regardless of the error message.

The same request that I made to Richard earlier:

can you install "nRF Connect" on your Android device, connect to the Aqualung
i750T and send a screen shot of the services that it offers? You have to tap on
the name of the service to then get to the characteristics... there should be
one
or more that offer read, write and notify..

Those three should work from a BLE support perspective (but we have no code
for your dive computer, yet)

It looks like Lubomir will start to look into that :-)

That's a very generous offer. Right now I think the Nordic tool on Android is
pretty much
the best way to get to the information I need. Linus also has an A300CS and
he's here
in town (well, this week he is out of time, diving), so I'll ask him to either
allow me to use
his or to continue his work that he already started.

What will be extremely helpful is if you'll be able to help test / verify that
whatever we
come up with works for your computer and the OSs that you have access to.

Thanks

App installed, but I need a couple days to get back to the dive computer and
copy off my last dives first.

Please keep in mind that I also have desktop Linux access, if any of that
tooling could be more beneficial than the android side. I'd also be willing to
schedule some time for SSH access to a desktop in range and sit around to
manipulate the dive computer on demand if it would help, too.

So the Perdix doesn't work with the S5, but does work with your son's tablet?
Does the S5 support BLE? Can you show the output from nRF Connect?
Can you compare that to the nRF output on your son's tablet?

I know that Linus has this same dive computer and started looking at supporting
it but ran out of time. It would be great to add it... can you install "nRF

Can test on WIN 10 CE, works just fine with Shearwater desktop and on
