OLPC community,
I've compiled a version of MAME (www.mamedev.org) for the OLPC 1.75. The
platform's resources are limited but many games run really well. I've also
got sound working and the joypads configured. The overall result is nice,
and it feels good to see classic arcade games running on
(There's also olpc-dm that was used on Fedora 18 OLPC OS, but it is
unmaintained, so you'll need a developer to make it work on Raspbian.)

I think you missed my point. Software is developed and maintained to
serve the needs of its users, in our case primary school children.

Yes, there is a way, but this is not part of Sugar. It is part of a program in
a class of programs called a greeter.
gdm3 offers a choice of Sugar or GNOME if both are installed.
lightdm also offers a similar choice.
nodm can be configured for one choice only.
