There was probably a reason why it moved them off screen instead of hiding
them.
Do you have any idea what it is?

Sure. The record UI consists of many windows/widgets. In a particular

I'd like to add one more thing. I didn't test the activity without a
camera. I have a laptop with an integrated webcam and the XO has an
integrated webcam as well.
