I'm trying to create a simple launcher in Sugar that loads the GNOME
Network Connections utility (nm-connection-editor)[0].
In its current state[1], the utility loads quickly and is usable.
However, the loading screen stays up in the background for a full one
and a half minutes.
Is there a way

I think this design resolve the principal issue of my mockups, we can' t
identify easily what function is in use.
Perhaps, we can use a secondary toolbar to the less used options if
necessary (quality, or new features like effects...)

Personally, I'm fine with having some widgets on the canvas, the start/stop
makes sense to be there centred under the
FWIW, this is a method I include in all my (strictly text-based) activities.
It both sizes fonts to fit on various-width screens, and allows a user (or
deployment) to decrease/increase font size. (It also works with all versions
of Sugar for the XO and SoaS, to my knowledge.)
