We have now a kinda-like bot activity. it's called hablar con sara,
it's mainly a chatter bot in union with speak, you type things and she

My suggestion is that you try working with Ubuntu and install the sugar
packages, they are pretty decent for developing..
Also you can check the new Activity team at sugar labs for resources.
