What happened when you ran them? Under regular Jaunty, sugar-emulator
gets into X, changes to the Sugar cursor, and hangs.

I used your instructions a while ago on a debian testing
and made them work.

this procedure saved me the troubles related to working with sugar-jhbuild
on my main system.
