we use the python implementation bundled with sumo 0.27.1.
I'll check out your fix and come back to you should the problems
persist.

mechanism was completely broken in the python client
http://sumo.dlr.de/trac.wsgi/ticket/2704 but after fixing it there, it
seems to work (so no apparent problem on the server side here).
