Dear All, Anyone who knew the late Margaret Stanier, sometime Editor of the BSS Bulletin, might be interested in an announcement recently published by Newnham College, Cambridge:
A memorial meeting for Margaret Stanier (Peggy) will be held in Clough Hall, Newnham College, at 2 p.m. on Saturday 9 February 2008. Refreshments will be served afterwards. The College assure me that anyone with dialling interests will be most welcome. It seems likely that one of the themes will be handbell ringing, one of Margaret's many other activities (where she was always known as Peggy), but I am not sure about dialling. Like many Cambridge Colleges, Newnham has a couple of sundials: a late 19th century horizontal dial and an early 20th century pillar dial with four dial faces). The College has limited parking alas.
