Bonjour à tous,
Hi fellow shadows watchers !
Je dois dire que je suis très gêné pour répondre en anglais, car mes mots sont
trop limités pour ce sujet précis.
I must excuse me for this quite bilingual answer !
the topic is very precise, but I guess that my words will not be quite exact to
say

Manelic,
I don't think that the book I have is exactly the one you
it, some months ago.
Sorry, it's only in French :-)
It's an other big work to write home page in two (or more) languages, without
any non-sense for native speakers !

Hi, all sundiallist !
Here, in our planetarium, we often say that the Moon is running on the Sun's
path, 6 months later.
summer : Sun's high, Moon's down
winter : Sun's down, Moon's high in the sky;
It's an easy, but not too wrong tip for non-astronomical public.
Is there other tips, as easy
Hi Roger, and all the sundiallists,
I'm interrested in your work about armillary spheres, even when it's a big
file. This subject is relatively rare, on paper edition, and it would
be interresting to read something new about armillary spheres, and armillary
aequatorial sundials.
...
C'est uniquement l'extrémité du style qui sert sur ce type de cadran.
Elle doit se trouver au centre de la sphère.
Ce type de cadran, facile à réaliser doit être orienté plein sud pour
fonctionner.

Hi Alexei, hi all,
I think that an other problem of a large sundial, is the accuracy of the
shadow. Will the shadow be sufficiently sharp ?
Good luck and sunny skies !

Fer, is it possible to send us, as attached files, this article from
Heinz SIGMUND ?
In text mode it might not be too large to stay under a reasonnable limit

Hello Alain,
At what latitude and longitude the tower is?
In this picture you see the pattern for an east facing vertical dial at
latitude 52 degrees for local sun time, on a vertical cylinder
.
I'm not a great friend with mathematics, so I thought that the trigon
laser is the only solution, isn'it ?
Did anybody try to draw such a sundial ?
Cheers
