How long has the node been up? Go to advanced mode on the web interface. What is the error message now? It will be more detailed. How many incoming connections do you have? Show me the top few lines of the following page: http://127.0.0.1:8888/servlet/nodestatus/nodestatus.html
As the warning on the homepage and the download page says, freenet cannot deliver instant gratification, because of the way it learns about the network... but if you give me some of the above info I may be able to help you.
