Make sure you are using FreeNode server on the IRC, and if you want to exchange 
refs then 
the channel you want to join is #freenet-refs
#freenet is for discussion about freenet itself. If you've installed mIRC i 
suspect that 
its default is to connect to DalNet.

[freenet-support] Freenet 0.7 build 844

Freenet 0.7 build 844 is now available. It should show up through the
auto-update system in half an hour or so. Please upgrade ASAP! This
build will become mandatory at midnight GMT. This build fixes a serious
and long standing bug in a "time dependant averager" class used widely
in 0.7. One result of this bug was that nodes would sometimes have high
bwlimitDelayTime while having low actual bandwidth usage, but it
probably had other consequences.

Please upgrade!
