[freenet-support] 0.7 FProxy oddities

2006-04-04 Thread Joel Salomon
Bug report:

On occasion, alternates between a
version of the page with much of the formatting removed and a CSS
file. When this happens, reloading the page switches between the two.

[freenet-support] Unable to install in China

2006-04-04 Thread A C
I am located in China, where access to Freenet downloads are blocked.  I use a proxy so am able to download through that, but the installer does not include all of the files and tries to download those itself.  This does not go through the proxy, so it is blocked.
This will prevent almost all Chinese from using the software (and they need it the most), unless they have the savvy, time, and energy to download all of the files by themselves and figure out how to put them in the right place.
Is there a package that includes all of the necessary files for a simple install on windows?  How about posting some instructions to help people like me install?  How about a torrent seed for this build? Thanks.

[freenet-support] freenet does not configure

2006-04-04 Thread Joseph Terranova
I'm running the console-only version of freenet on ubuntu breezy.
According to the website and the readme, freenet should run configuration
setup when first started. Instead, i get this:

"
Detected freenet-ext.jar
Detected freenet.jar
It appears that this is your first time running Freenet. You
should read the README file as it contains important instructions
and advice.

First we must generate a freenet.conf file. I will now run
Freenet in configure mode, and it will ask you a number of
questions. If you don't understand the question, hitting enter
without typing anything will go with the default which is likely
to be the right thing.

Freenet Configuration
Running in simple mode. Some preferences will be skipped.
You can choose the default preferences by just hitting

Setting: listenPort
The port to listen for incoming FNP (Freenet Node Protocol) connections on.
os.arch = i386
Loading native...
Attempting to load freenet/support/CPUInformation/libjcpuid-x86-linux.so
Written to /tmp/jcpuid43697lib.tmp: 55692
INFO: Native CPUID library 'freenet/support/CPUInformation/libjcpuid-
x86-linux.so' loaded from resource
INFO: Optimized native BigInteger library 'net/i2p/util/libjbigi-
linux-pentium3.so' loaded from resource
"

preconfig.sh runs, and the listen port and seednode are set in the
freenet.conf, but nothing else configures.

running "java freenet.node.Main --config" produces this:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: freenet/node/Main
running "java -cp freenet.jar:freenet-ext.jar freenet.node.Main --config"
produces this:

"

This happens for both the stable and unstable versions.

Any suggestions?

[freenet-support] Freenet .7 alpha CSS Error

2006-04-04 Thread James
Hi,

I'm running the current .7 alpha which just went public.

version=Fred,0.7,1.0,616

Sometimes when using FProxy, and adding a node reference, it shows me
only the CSS information - one of the .css files from the server..
then it will show me the html without any CSS data.

They see this on the freenode IRC channel #freenet as well and I was
told to report it here. I am not being too verbose in the error
perhaps just in case you already know of it, but let me know if I can
be of any help.

Best,
James
