There are some tools for Freenet that allow you to share the files, you want to look at Frost (works similarly to newsgroups) and Thaw. If you still have the problem with localhost: on your browser it probably means that your node (A) doesn't run on local machine (not very likely if you are a newbie), (B) isn't started at the moment (start the node in the operating system way). You also will need to exchange references with some people who already use Freenet, this should be with people you trust not to spy on your communications. If you are desperate and have nobody else to exchange with you want to join #freenet-refs on Freenode IRC network. I hope this helps. - Volodya - -- http://freedom.libsyn.com/ Voice of Freedom, Radical Podcast http://freeselfdefence.info/ Self-defence wiki http://www.kingstonstudents.org/ Kingston University students' forum "None of us are free until all of us are free."~ Mihail Bakunin -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGNupfuWy2EFICg+0RAqJkAJ4uap3jIQILcbWCXcNZycK/QorL/ACgrpjm HpGFYA7B8VCB5UnQRwTYc/c= =vTE6 -END PGP SIGNATURE-

well, unless something's changed in the newer versions (I still use 0.5 for various reasons), that means freenet isn't running. I'm assuming you are running windows, so make sure the little freenet icon appears in the system tray, and if so, right click and there should be an option to view the error log. But then again, my knowledge is based off running 0.5 on XP, before 0.7 even came out, so things might be a bit different. Maybe someone else here can help you some if that's the case.
