You post a message through your newsreader, in this case Thunderbird. You need
your identity to have been announced first.

[freenet-support] how to send a message to a fms board

2008-08-16 Thread bqz69
I am using ubuntu 8.04 - KDE - and freenet.

I have downloaded/installed:

fms v. 0.3.17

Thunderbird and inserted "thunderbird-fms-extension-5-fms.xpi"

http://pocoproject.org/poco/download/
poco-1.3.2.tar.gz (took a long time to compile)

Everything works fine - I start fms and can go to http://localhost:8080/
(the fms administration page)
I can read other messages of fms in thunderbird ok.

But, how do I upload a message to a fms board?
I do not see any place where to insert the message text? :-)

Is there a small fms manual for an end user as me, with normal speech
explanations. :-?

I am reading the: FMS : Freenet Message System - Overview page

There are so many special phrases in freenet (peers, nodes etc) that it is
difficult for an enduser to understand the various instructions.

I am the author of www.minihowto.org, and my plan is to make a new updated
freenet minihowto for my website - my intention is "short" plain normal words
howtos, so hopefully more ordinary people can start using freenet - (it is
difficult)

By the way, you are doing a phantastic excellent work on freenet, out there -
thanks
