My node seems to be humming along at 4% load (indicated on nodestatus
report). I've been up two days and have 2000+ inbound connections reported
from 78 nodes. my store is at 2 gigs and growing.

node:
Version Information
Node Version 0.5
Protocol Version 1.46
Build Number 525
CVS Revision 1.85.2.3
the load is between 2-5%. I can rapidly connect to freesites.
is this happy circumstance caused by the version
but 525 seems to be working fine. should those users who are experiencing
no difficulties w/ 525 update to 0502?

WORKING FINE? Nobody I have talked to has described
I'm up and running...the store fills up slowly and inbound requests are
few, but it seems to be working. This is proof that basic idiots can run a
permanent node.
one more question. I'm going to have to switch to an ethernet connection to
the university's lan. No more static ip. Can I use
in 'advanced settings' I have the default: 127.0.0.1,localhost.

I should elaborate: I can use freenet--that is, I can connect to the

I've been checking that...no inbound requests yet, after more than 6 hours.
Have you had some connections now? http://127.0.0.1:8889/ and click on

thanks for your help so far. reinstalled my node because the update would
not delete the old jar...the new install included both the .freenet and
store_ folder, so I deleted the store_ folder. Is the datastore in
.freenet? where is it located?

I notice I have .freenet and a store_ file. is this how it should be?

ok...now I understand more reading through the previous posts and realize
some of my earlier questions were inane. what I don't yet understand is the
environment data of the web interface--the data store size stays the same
there, but when I look at the store_ file, the size changes, so I suspect
Freenet seems to stall (I have winme, perm node w/ newest sun java). It'll
reach 1800 kb in the datatore and just stop.

I installed the newest sun jvm and today's wininstall for freenet. It won't
start...nothing in logfile. I'm a perm node w/ 1 gig dedicated. Winme for me.
any suggestions how to fire this up?
