The real question was why are the files stored in 'c:\'? I haven't told my
node to put anything there as far as I know. If I happened to run linux
would the files be
placed in '/'?

Well, this comment is on DEBUG level logging. If you don't want to see
it, increase the logLevel to MINOR :). If you want to be able to see
which messages are which priority, set:
logFormat=d (c, t, p): m

This will make messages show their priority. If you want to _understand_
it, read src/freenet/support/SimpleDataObjectStore.java :)
