Sujet: Help! GSM not working after updating to Moko10
Date: Thu, 26 Feb 2009 21:55:47 +0300

Hi everybody,

I really appreciate your help because my phone is not any more a phone!!

the story is that i have updated the GSM firmware to the Moko10 in my GTA2Bv5
as described on http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/GSM/Flashing

I have follow exactly the instructions there on the same proposed FSO, and
every thing went ok, i even got the message :

(fluid, version 3) ok
Checksumming (269 * 8kB = 2152kB): ok
Flash Detect: (0xEC, 0x22A0) Samsung K5A3240CT ok
Program: (34 sectors, 267*8k=2136k) (***) ok

so every thing seemed ok i even tried the proposed verification :

r...@om-gta02:~# cat /dev/ttySAC0
r...@om-gta02:~# echo -en 'AT\r' /dev/ttySAC0
r...@om-gta02:~# echo -en 'AT+CGMR\r' /dev/ttySAC0
+CGMR: HW: GTA, GSM: gsm_ac_gp_fd_pu_em_cph_ds_vc_cal_amd8_ts0-Moko10
kill %1

Well, after that i went back to SHR testing, but i couldn't register to the GSM
network. i tried FDOM and same thing : no registering

Then i said maybe the firmware is not valid (even that i ckecked the md5sum and
it was ok) so i tried to downgrade to Moko8 (the gta02bv5 one) but i stucked in
Bootloader: (reset target)

i tried the -oO and -oo. with and without the 'FLUID_FLOWCONTROL=h' and in the
other season i tried the s3c24xx-gpio b7=1, echo 0
/sys/bus/platform/devices/neo1973-pm-gsm.0/power_on and echo 1
/sys/bus/platform/devices/neo1973-pm-gsm.0/power_on but nothing work i can't
reflash my GSM anymore

i really don't know what to do now...

PLEASE HELP !

About the error message, it's from Firefox about a bad security
certificate. Cheap servers often use self-signed certificat and since
3.0.5 Firefox show an error message. To solve, you will have to add a
exception to this site (use the link saying something like Or you can
add an exception ... and then the button saying something like Add an

then. (You can see my threads GSM no longer registers on GTA02 - how to

I have recently returned from out of town and have tried further
troubleshooting my problem, but have not gotten the phone back to a

tried to file a bug, only to get the message Error: Forbidden \n

One thing I haven't tried is devirginating (shouldn't it be
revirginating?) my phone, as I don't have access to a JTAG interface.
Other than that, I have replaced every piece of software on that phone

I have tried many different configurations which I have known to work in
the past) has been able to register GSM ever since my FR stopped
registering about six weeks ago. If somebody in the New York City area has
a JTAG interface that I could use for de/revirgination purposes, I would
greatly appreciate the loan of said interface (or I can give you my phone
  for *virgination.)

Otherwise, I would really like to know what my options are. I know
OpenMoko has a short hardware warranty period, and I am definitely outside
of that period, as I got my phone in early August, but I am willing to pay
a reasonable fee (reasonable = less money than buying another freerunner)
to have my phone serviced if necessary. I maintain my suspicion that the
  Calypso mysteriously died.

I would very much appreciate information about my options here -- at the
very least, I'd like to be able to file a bug report, so if anybody can
help with that, it would be a start. (I am logged into the Trac site with
account name danek and I am going to
https://docs.openmoko.org/trac/wiki/NewTicket only to get an error

Re: OpenMoko + Exchange

2009-01-14 Thread Nicolas Dufresne
By the way, for clarification, I don't think there has ever been native
support for MS exchange in evolution, and anyways the binary protocol
only works within your Lan. Evolution Exchange is a wrapper around the
Web Interface of Exchange server. Today it works quite reliably, but
it's still a little intensive on network and memory. Also, MS Exchange
is not IMAP compatible without alteration of the server.

For sure with a PIM support in FSO we will be more equipe to integrate
mail backends like Exchange.

Re: [qtopia]how to install a qpk package?

2008-09-06 Thread Nicolas Dufresne
Hi,

I've look at repository Qtopia.net, a and I figured out that we where
missing file .qpd. I've created this file by copying the containt of the
file called control which is inside the package archive (a qpk is
tar.gz). It misses the Md5um: and Filesize: field, so I added it. Heres
what I get

cityMap_1.0.0-1_arm.qpd:
Package: cityMap
Filename: cityMap_1.0.0-1_arm.qpk
Size: 88747
MD5Sum: dae701a3dafed772330c136ed29a4657
Description: cityMap Application
Maintainer: Damien RANNOU,,, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
License: GPL
Version: 1.0.0-1
Trust: Untrusted
Arch: arm
Architecture: arm
Domain: window
QtopiaVersion: 4.3.0-4.3.2
Devices: ficgta01
Type: generic
Installed-Size: 300881
File-Count: 9
URL: http://192.168.1.200/cityMap_1.0.0-1_arm.qpk

As you have only one package, the package list is simply this file.
Normally is would be generated by something like:

cat *.qpd packages.list
echo packages.list

Note that without a blank line at the end of the file it did not work
for me. The you add you HTTP server to you server list and install the
app. My first note is that the application is not really a version 1.0,
their exist hardcoded path, like the .osm file that is required to start
the app but actually not used at all. To use the GPS, it seems that you
need to get the fix before you start this app (I not sure how to do
that). The tile cache does not work.

Have fun,
Nicolas
