with Option Rotate CCW in xorg.conf and the touchscreen was
unusable. I suppose this is just a matter of setting a different
pointercal value depending upon orientation though.

No. The /etc/pointercal is the matrix that maps hardware values to
values in the 640x480 range, and should not be used for anything else
(for example, not for working around bugs in the X-tslib-driver, or to
rotate the screen). The right point to fix that is the X tslib driver, I
think.

with Option RandRRotation on you can change the orientation with
xrandr -o left but the screen wacks out, i assume cause x doesn't know
how to set the frequency or something in portrait mode in the default
Debian install. I haven't played with the xorg file enough yet to
figure out how to fix that.

It would be great to get that working, as it’s not yet clear whether and
how we can get Xglamo packaged.

Greetings,
Joachim

Swapping screen orientation on debian-image

2008-08-17 Thread Rorschach
Hi,
xrandr doesn't seem to work. Setting an option in the xorg.conf is no real
solution to me because I don't want to have to reboot/restart X to swap the
screen orientation. Anyone figured another way of changing it?
