subsequent reboot quieted it down and it has been up and stable for 2

Edit /cf/conf/config.xml and edit the interface assignments. You can
use diagnostics -> Edit file to edit this.
Once you edit the file, from a command prompt (Diagnostics) run rm
/tmp/config.cache then shutdown the unit and move the hard drive.

I have an hardware called Instagate EX 2 which comes with NO display
output and NO keyboard output either, the only way to install PFSense on
it is by installing it using my PC and then grap the HD and put on it.
The problem is that on my PC, my Network Card is an Realtek (rl0) as LAN
and
I have three offices connected via combinations of pfsense and
m0n0wall. These all do their IPsec tunnels flawlessly and I've never
had any errors or problems with those. I can copy files all day long
without fail.
However things go south when I hook up my powerbook running OS X 10.4
