I've just found a forum item - it seems 1.2 does not support dynamic endpoints anyway... have to wait for 1.3

Hi,

I have setup my pfSense now for 3 days, and am quite happy with it (at home I use a m0n0wall, since I don't want a running harddisk). But, some of my collegues have a hardware router, with IPSEC functionallity in them, but they don't have a fixed IP... so they have a dynamic ip with dyndns, to follow their ip address (and to be able to connect a vpn).

But, as soon as I add a hostname into pfSense IPSEC ip address field - the IPSEC stack won't come up (it states that there is an error in racoon.conf). I have added 4 ipsec endpoints, with a dynamic ip address (2 have cable connections, and 2 have ADSL), the ones with ADSL change ip every 36 hours, so I need them to have that dyndns address... the two cable connections have a quite fixed ip (as long as their connection won't fall out for more than 30 minutes, they keep the same ip anyway)

ps. at the office a fixed ip is available.

Current setup

office connection homes
pfSense ADSL Linksys RV082
                    ADSL DI-824VUP+
                    Cable m0n0wall (me)
                    Cable Linksys WRV-200

Kind regards,
Michel
