The problem is Microsoft, not Pidgin. Microsoft keeps shutting down
unofficial methods of access and applications - of which Pidgin is one.
So, a new Pidgin version is likely not going to solve your problem, at

I use both Pidgin multple applications including Gtalk. I have had no
such issues. You probably need to look At your settings in Gtalk,
Messenger, etc. I always get a notification that someone wants to connect-
I always decline unless it is someone I am sure I know.
