Re: Gmail username in chat windows
I have a related problem that while yahoo ids of all users show only the first part of email id (without @yahoo.com etc.), gmail ids of all users are shown full id (including @gmail.com). That goes long and doesn't allow to decrease the width of main pidgin window. While GTalk software shows not the id but the full name the person has attributed to that id, pidgin shows email ids. Any method to have the gtalk default display in pidgin, or having at least just the first part of the id (without @gmail.com). Thanks. -- Rawat On 2/2/2011 11:09 AM India Time, _Michael Secord_ wrote: Go into your gmail account settings in Pidgin and change your Local Alias. embedded window (authorization requests etc.) close button
In earlier versions the embedded window for authorization requests, disconnect notifications etc. had a close button. Now it doesn't. I'm getting a couple of authorization requests from spammers/fishers EVERY F-NG DAY (pidgin needs more privacy options concerning authorization request, but let us talk about this another time, unless somebody has an advice) and I don't want to deny them, since any kind of answer would only lead to more requests. So, I would really love the close button to reappear again to ignore those warnings/requests. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Assuming this is the crap on ICQ, it doesn't seem to make much difference if you X or Deny, about the same rate of crap hits my two ICQ accounts, despite the fact that I ignore requests on one and deny on the other. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Hello. I'm using pidgen to chat with someone on yahoo... is there a way in pidgen (or yahoo messenger) to find the ip address of the other person ? I dont need to know 'exactly' where they are - just the country. i'm not sure if they're telling truth. -- G Auckland Freecycle - New Zealand http://nz.freecycle.org/ ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
