Perl API / Kerberos query
I'm trying to adapt the perl script on the website to handle prpl-sipe protocols but I've hit a brick wall with regards to two issues: How do I set the krb5 boolean needed for a single-sign-on? I can't find anything in pidgin-docs regarding this. so far it's: sub plugin_load { my $plugin = shift; my $protocol = prpl-sipe; my $account_name = `/usr/bin/finger \$USER | /bin/sed -ne s/.*Name: \\(.*\\)file:///\\(.*\) \\(.*\\)/\\1.\\2\@emaildomain.com/pfile:///\\(.*\)\1.\2\@emaildomain.com\p |tr -d \n `; $account = Purple::Account-new($account_name, $protocol); Purple::Accounts::add($account); $account-set_username($account_name); etc} I've gone through the online documentation (although not being a C or perl programmer I may have missed the reference) but can't see anything explicitly mentioning this. Buddy Showing as Not Authorized
Good Morning, I am showing as Not Authorized on my colleague's buddy lists. Even though I show as not authorized, they can still send me messages, but they can never see my statuses - only Not Authorized and it always looks like I'm off line. They are on my buddy list just fine. I am using the XMPP protocol. Any ideas? Thanks ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? The appear Offline is not working for Google talk protocol. It works for MSN messenger. There is no standard, universal appear offline or invisible status for XMPP. Some XMPP services or clients honor one of several mechanisms, I do not know that Google Talk honors any. In any case, Pidgin does not support this. Google Talk has an invisible status that they support but it is inextricably linked to their shared status support which pidgin does not (and will not) support. I believe there is (at least one) plugin designed to shim in shared status support so as to allow for Google Talk invisibility to work but I don't know anything about them (though I think one might be listed on the ThirdPartyPlugins page). -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? If neither of those is the problem then this sounds like an Olark issue and you'll need to take it up with them. -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Account locked: too many failed login attempts. Logging into the Yahoo! wesite may fix this. Logging into the yahoo website didn't fix the problem. I'm stumped and need assistance. I don't know what sort of problem this might be (other than what they claim it is) but it might just be a temporary server issue. If it doesn't resolve itself you can get the output from the Help-Debug Window from when you try to connect and send that to the list and it might contain something useful in it (though I don't know that it will and you will want to look it over to make sure it doesn't contain anything you don't want being made public). In addition, under Accounts Enable/Username/Protocol, I attempt to click on the websites I want to enable, but it only allows me to select one. Can't I get all three, in case, if different Buddies, IM me from different accounts? I need help. If you mean you can't add three different accounts all at once then no, you can't. But you can add three different accounts to pidgin individually. Is there a phone number I can call for someone to walk me through? No. This mailing list and an IRC and XMPP chatroom are the only official support venues. -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Re: Buddy Showing as Not Authorized
Katie, Some IM clients allow you to appear offline when you are not. There are reports of this going back quite a while but I couldn't find any specific cause. Do you have another computer you can try this on to see if it's (perhaps) caused by a problem with Pidgin on your computer? -Tres On Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 9:49 AM, Katie Elverson kelve...@emich.edu wrote: Good Morning, I am showing as Not Authorized on my colleague's buddy lists.
