Last Seen Time Incorrect

2013-12-21 Thread JoyceAndMichael.us
I use Pidgin to check on when my elderly father was last on the computer-

Last seen is often way-off. Example he sent an email 7 hours ago but Last
Seen is 1 day and 2 hours - It was correct 7 hours ago.

He does not use Pidgin and it runs in the background so he is not changing
anything on it.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Michael

We can only report what the server tells us. The server is apparently
 telling us something inconsistent.

Maybe he is connecting as invisible?

last seen

2010-08-18 Thread bigten 1234
In my buddy list, I have one buddy that lost the alias (reverted back to his
original screen name given) and also lost the last seen field. Only one
buddy this happened to. All of the rest in my list are the same. Why would
this have happened?

Thanks.

Could the buddy have renamed themselves? IIRC this can happen on MSN
with non-hotmail.com/msn.com/etc domains, and when it does, pidgin sees
it as an entirely new contact added from another client.

Last seen ?

2010-03-26 Thread Gordon Stewart
Hello.

a query re the last seen (online) detail.

example :- one of my contacts was last seen 10 days ago...

If I'm normally online from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (pidgin is turned on aswell)

one of my contacts was online earlier in the day, but logged off at
5 p.m. - Before I logged on.

does the 'last seen' record the time they were actually online ? Or
when my pidgin actually saw them on (while I was on aswell)

Hope that makes sense :)

It records the time they were last seen, not last online. If you
were not online to see them online, they were not seen.

Where the Last Seen info is saved?

2009-10-14 Thread n000b

Hi!

I have a few questions about Last Seen info displayed in the tool-tip for
the buddy:

a. Where is the is info saved on a Windows machine? in a file or some
registry?

b. Does this Last Seen has a history feature as well, so that we can see
when the user's previous log in history?

Thanks,
n000b.

I think it's stored as an attribute or a child element of the buddy in
blist.xml[1]

I don't think so. But we might store some of that info in the chat
log for the person (but only if you have an IM window open with them),
or maybe in Tools-System Log.
