@Logan, You've contacted a public mailing list for the 3rd party program "Pidgin". This mailing list is for help using and debugging the software, but does not have access to accounts or passwords.
We don't know your environment, so you'll first need to see which protocol the user is using and then contact that provider. For example, if the service is AIM, use AOL's preferred method for resetting passwords. If the service is SIPE/Communicator, contact your internal IT department.... (etc).
