Close SeaMonkey then Ctrl-Alt-Del and look at Running processes. See if SeaMonkey is still running. If so, End Task and re-start SeaMonkey to see if you get your original profile back.
If not, have a look at Tools->Switch Profiles and see if you have more profiles than you expect. If so, switch to the other profiles to see if your missing mail is there.
