Thanks to the devs ->Re: SeaMonkey 2.53.2 Beta 1 released!

2020-04-15 Thread Paul Bergsagel

Many thanks to all the developers for this latest release.

I have used 2.53.2 b 1 for a couple of hours tonight and so far this
release appears to be very good. I do not notice any serious issues. A
few sites could function/display better, but nothing I can't deal with.

I am using an iMac with MacOS Catalina 10.15.4.

Thanks to all involved. Namely kudos to IanN and FRG for their hard
working at doing the builds once again. Their tireless work on the
builds have been well noted. FotF material. :)

PS: Any screw ups is due to my incompetence and does not reflect the
project or its members. While I've tried to ensure the files are
'ok'; the upload process is between a manual process and an automated
one. I'd guess one or the other would throw a hissy fit. So
apologies ahead of time.

closing out my own question, thanks to some google searches;

the new preference to add in about:config to spoof at will is;

general.useragent.override

view message source on this post and it /should/ say Firefox 74

you can put Chrome or webkit or whatever you want.  :-)

Yeap, I see your User Agent as Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X
10.13; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0

but did you notice the pref you listed was "general.useragent.override"
not the "general.useragent.override.seamonkey" that you quoted first
time around.

Yes, they changed it.

As I understand it, now that you have it set to
"general.useragent.override", ever site you visit will think you are
using FF V78, not SM.

Or whatever I put there. That was the first copy and paste I had ready.

open email links in Firefo, not in seamonkey browser

2020-04-15 Thread Steve

I use the seamonkey mail client as my standard mail program und er win 10.

When I click on any link in my E-mails, they are opened with the seamonkey
browser.

How can I change this to Firefox. My standard browser is Firefox under win
10 already

Just curious -- are you abbreviating Seamonkey as "SM" in your own use,
or are you just doing that for reference here?

Yeap!! I noticed that just after I hit the "Send" button but wasn't
quick enough to click the "Cancel" button!!

I did consider sending a follow up post with the correction but then I
figured my Versions were listed in my sig. file (Checks to see that that
information was correct ;-) Yeap!), so I didn't bother sending the
correction!
