lock and/or .parentlock in profile?

Hi, not shure wether this is the suitable group, anyway: At the (german) FAQ about profiles http://www.seamonkey.at/?d=xi=faqm=if.i=5 is been written, that locks are named .parentlock (or parent.lock). What about .lock (as symlink) which I'm familiar with at my linuxes? And at my openSUSE
