In most cases, if I do a Find on a Web page without the Wrap around
option, I get a popup with the message The text you entered was not
found when I exhaust all occurances of the text string. For some
pages, however, this does not work.

I can repeatedly select the Find button on the Find dialog popup or
(having dismissed the popup) the F3 button. I get no indication whether
 Find is working at all.

One example of it not working is on the Reuters/Yahoo news pages at
 http://news.yahoo.com/i/578.

Is this a bug in SeaMonkey (more likely Gecko)? (If so, is there a bug
report?) Or is it a problem with the affected Web pages?

I reported such a bug already, noone confirmed yet.

Bug #507444 is not quite the same since I don't use the Wrap around
option. I submitted bug #514306 at
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=514306.

Go to Mozdev at http://www.mozdev.org/ for quick access to
extensions for Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and other
Mozilla-related applications. You can access Mozdev much
more quickly than you can Mozilla Add-Ons.

Can't stop web site loading - no Stop available !

2009-09-03 Thread DoctorBill

I got onto MapQuest to get a location map.

It was set for the last city I looked for and was loading - Dial Up...

I wanted to change it - but the Stop button was gray.

Couldn't make it stop loading !

Do I have something set wrong ?

Do some sites cancel the Stop button ?

I think it is caused by the site's use of AJAX. The page is finished
loading before it starts loading the map. Try hitting the Escape key
instead. I just tried it on Mapquest and it worked for me, despite the
fact the stop button was greyed out.

addons won't install

2009-09-03 Thread sharon
Installed SeaMonkey today with few problems but there are a couple of
add ons I'd like to install: AdBlock Plus error message install script
not found; Down Them All, same error message.

I installed Cookie Safe with no problem.

Also, I can't find where to check what add ons are installed unless I'm
missing something. Thanks for any help.
