I've been working with Seamonkey 1.1.16 for a long time. But it was
outdated... So I switched to 2.0.3 (and since today 2.6.1) but now
certain images appear as black rectangles on this laptop. On my
desktop (running an identical Slackware 12.2) all images appear as
they should.

Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Well, it
may do so in your computer but not in mine which
is why I hold off to upgrade. The print on the
browser is tiny and worse in the mail program.
In Edit ? Preferences ? Appearance ? Fonts you can set a minimum font

I think the OP's confusion is:
1. Should I start Win 7 in Safe Mode?
2. Or should I start SeaMonkey in Safe Mode?
Two different things with two different outcomes.
Now you are confusing me. ;) Win started is safe-mode? Hm.
What is it you are really suggesting be done?

So how does one start SM in safe mode?
Now I know why I hadn't upgraded since 2.0. All

the zippiness is due to the JavaScript improvements or the fresh
