Safe Mode in 2.31

Hello all, woke up this morning to my W8.1 machine with SM 2.31 (beta) which will only open in 'Safe Mode'. Not sure what happened, I did a few emails last night, word docs and some eBay updates. Now performing a full scan with Avast to see if there is anything hiding which I Am not aware

Apple Imac OS Yosemite Downloaded SM2.31 Closed SM installed opened. Password requested as normal opened Mail and Newsgroups (as specified) result blank. Repeated the above download install opened to find SM running with Mail and Newsgroups restored. Hope this helps someone.
