It does appear that "View Selection Source" is broken in 2.40. "View >
Page Source" still works.

SeaMonkey 2.40 does have a bug in File Bookmark. The dialog box does
not change size when you pull down the folder list, which makes it
difficult to use. I corrected the problem by adding code to my
userChrome.css file to make the dialog box longer to accommodate the
folder list.

For what it's worth, I've just noticed that this also affects other
dialogs, not just File Bookmark. e.g. Edit > Preferences cuts off the
right-hand side of the dialog. This is using the SeaMonkey Default
Theme, on Windows Vista with Aero disabled and "Windows Standard"
desktop theme; sizing may be different and not exhibit the same problem
with different OS/desktop themes.

One user recently reported here that it was showing a Mozilla icon even
for a post which had no User-Agent header nor any other header with

I agree that it's a specialized extension, and that not many need it.

For me, I do tech support, where there's a number of different mail
clients in use. Yes, I can look at a raw header, or tinker with
about:config settings, but for me, it's beneficial to see at at a

The majority of my users use Thunderbird, but there's some number that
use Outlook, as well as a handful of other mail clients, including Apple
Mail, a webmail client, and one or two others. Knowing what client is
being used (and with a graphical display) helps me to quickly know both
what kinds of assumptions the user is making, as well as sometimes
answering the question of why the contents of a certain message appear
the way that they do.

I'm not advocating that others use this particular extension, but it's
useful to me.

If you want that information on someone else, select the message and
then select [View > Message Source] from the menu bar. The information
is in the header field "User-Agent".

I just install the Mnenhy extension

which adds many useful features for newsgroups including customized
extended headers to display header fields like "User-Agent" and
messageid links...

Hmm... says not available for 2.40 but I am currently using Mnenhy
0.8.6.1-signed.1-let-fixed on 2.40. Maybe he hasn't updated the
install.rdf upper version threshold.

It would be nice if you shared this code!
