SM2.50 doesn't seem to respect --blank-- setting in Headers & Footers setting of Page Setup
Seems that even when set to blank, it still prints header and footers. Can anyone repro on Adrian's 2.50? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

I suppose that it will be quite difficult to fix this problem? E-mail messages are sent through either an SMTP server or an IMAP server. Newsgroup messages are sent through an NNTP server. In general, message applications can send messages to only one server at a time. Thus, you should send your message twice, once as E-mail and once as a newsgroup message. That seems odd. In the account settings for this news server, there is an option to set an outgoing smtp server. And if I right click on a news article, there is an option to reply to sender AND to newsgroup. So I think it should work. But it didn't when I tested it. This might have some relevance. http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mozilla.seamonkey.user/42971 For this newsgroup, I obviously use the news.mozilla.org server to read messages. For outgoing messages I use the mail server of my ISP. In that situation I can also send a message to the newsgroup as well as to one or more email addresses in one action. Another newsprovider that I use has its own upload server for outgoing messages. That server will only accept news messages, it will reject email messages. That makes sense, since outgoing mail has to use the mail server attached to my email address. In such a situation it should be possible to configure a separate mail server for outgoing mail messages, or better outgoing news messages that are also send by email. The NNTP and SMTP protocols are similar but not the same. Thus, two different servers are required. SeaMonkey's MailNews component can deal with only one server at a time since that component is replicated from Thunderbird, which can deal with only one server at a time. Your problem requires a server solution, not an application (e.g., SeaMonkey) solution. You might try creating your own ISP. I think there is some confusion going on here. But it might be me. So in short, the mail server of my ISP can handle mail messages (SMTP) Yes, outgoing mail messages, via an smtp server, incoming ones via pop or imap. and news messages (NNTP), I am not sure about that. Mail servers handle mail, news servers handle news. whereas the server of my newsprovider can only handle news messages (NNTP). I have never known a news server handle mail. Maybe it can. But the ports would be different, and the protocol. So you would have to set it up twice in SM I think, once as a mail server and once as a news server. It is possible to do a 'reply all' to a news message, and that would result in a NNTP message for the newsgroup, and one or more SMTP messages. You can reply all and produce one nntp article, via the configured news server, and only one email, via the smtp server. You can use the default smtp server which you use for all your email. Or you can use a different one, if you have access to it. smtp servers tend to require an account, or limit access in some way to avoid being used as spam relays. However the configuration for a News account mentions a SMTP Outgoing server. For pure news messages that should be a NNTP server, and for additional SMTP messages, there should be a SMTP server entry, am I right? No. The outgoing smtp server is for mail, news articles go via the news server. The smtp server is optional. It's only used if you want to reply both to the group and by email. Ah, thanks. It was my impression that NNTP also used a two-server setup, an incoming and an outgoing server. And since my news provider also gave me the settings for an upload server, I took that for the server for the outgoing messages. I assume that if I were to set up my own NNTP server, I would have to connect it to that upload server. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
