Have you set your firewall to allow SM to connect? It's along time since
I installed updates (or new software) of any kind, but if I remember
correctly I have to do that also after installing a new version of any
program I use.

I think that I fixed the issue. It had to do with the settings in the
Firewall so I am up and running again. :)
