I think the Ubuntuzilla administrator needs to be notified there is a
new version of Seamonkey.  Someone did that the last time, but I
can't find the post...

I see someone has, so it shouldn't be long now.

Just updated via ubuntuzilla this morning.  Looks good thus far.

You guys beat me to it. Thanks.

But now they are having issues:
Reading package lists... Done

Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NOSPLIT' (does the network require
authentication?)
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old
ones used instead.

Sourceforge is offline.

It's fixed.

At this point in time, there is no Win64 release build. There's
still a bunch of stuff that needs to be done to enable it.

it seems that it got not thru. There is some verification involved.

Until this is fixed just use the link ant provided or this one

Frank-Rainer, I had already downloaded the 2.49.2.tar.bz2 file from
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/ and then I realised that
I wanted the x86_64 version so scrolled to the bottom of that page to
get the "Contributed builds" which is where I got the 24.1MB file.

It's still showing as 24.1MB

I see, in the link you provided above, that its showing as being in a
x86_64 sub-directory but the actual file name is just
"seamonkey-2.49.2.tar.bz2" so, if I download that file, will I be
getting a full x86_64 file or just a 32bit file??

I'm not in any great rush!

Thanks, Frank-Rainer.

Edmund, I was just reading the Release Notes, and, in point one of the
"Known Issues", you mention about backing up the webappsstore.* file.
Would it be worth also noting that you could re-name the current file
webappsstore.*.old to achieve the same purpose??

Download of linux64 2.49.2 completed. Will install tomorrow.

Hmm!! The download of 2.49.2.en-US.linux.x86_64.tar.bz2 was only
24.1MB!! That can not be right, can it??

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=seamonkey-2.49.2=linux=en-US's
https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.49.2/linux-i686/en-US/seamonkey-2.49.2.tar.bz2
says 49.9 MB.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.49.2/linux-x86_64/en-US/seamonkey-2.49.2.tar.bz2
says 48.8 MB which I used earlier.

Edmund, I was just reading the Release Notes, and, in point one of the
"Known Issues", you mention about backing up the webappsstore.* file.
Would it be worth also noting that you could re-name the current file
webappsstore.*.old to achieve the same purpose??
