generally works fine except it does not seem to work in seamonkey. I
feel I must be missing something. The camera does work in other browsers.

What am I doing worng?
Finally my old and new pc cannot uss my inbuilt camera with SM: - other
browsers works as a charm.

My inbuilt camera have a led which is on when it is in use.
With other browsers this led is on immediately,
With SM this led did not came "on"
So I say that SM did not try to access the camera.

First of all, it is the convention here to BOTTOM POST replies.

I found I get excellent results by using the Zoom application. I never
tried doing Zoom within a browser. Ditto for Skype.

For security reasons --

1. I only install the Zoom application just before I am going to use
it. When the Zoom meeting is done, I uninstall the application with a
non-Windows application that also removes any registry entries for Zoom.
Of course, I have archived the Zoom installer. I make a copy of the
installer and install from that copy because a successful installation
seems to delete the installer automatically. (Skype remains installed
on my PC.)

2. I enable my webcam and microphone only when I am going to use them.
If I am going to use Skype, I test the webcam and microphone using
Skype's [Settings > Audio & Video] before the meeting starts. If I am
going to use Zoom, I test the webcam and microphone using VLC's [Media >
Stream] before the meeting starts. For that latter, I must
significantly reduce the volumn of the audio because it streams locally
very loud with much static. The most important part of testing is to
make sure that the webcam is pointed correctly at me.

3. When I am done with either Zoom or Skype, I disable my webcam and
microphone. Then, I keep the webcam zipped into a black cloth bag. No,
I do not unplug either device because they are plugged into the back of
my PC tower, and it is a real bother to get at the plugs and ports.

Is there some reason you want to use your browser?

My general experience is that native conferencing apps work better
than web browsers (and not just Seamonkey). The conferencing
companies tout the ease of using a web broswer, but that hasn't been
my experience

I mostly want to be sure SeaMonkey is working and it doesn't seem to be.

I have the same problem SEAMONKEY IS NOT WORKING AT ALL.

I use often ZOOM and this is working like a charm when I use Google
Chrome (unable to work with SM)
You may also test immediately using this link
https://meet.infomaniak.com/browser (if one or more clink on this
link, they a re conferencing immediately when using Google Chrome.

Doesn't work at all using SM.

Errare humanum est.
Now it works on my old pc - the camera was switched on, but no image -
on ANY browser - then I roll-back the camera driver and all goes well on
my old pc even while with SM.
On my new pc ... other browser switched on the camera and are able to
work - WITH SM .. SM did not switch on my camera... that's another problem.

I hate to use Microsoft Edge, but I give it a try AND this is working
very well also.

Perhaps SM needs to have installed Flash-Player (I did not install it on
my new pc, and removed on my old pc) which nearly obsolete.

*Flash* on the internet has essentially become *obsolete*. It is a huge,
consistent attack vector and the only means of viewing *Flash* content
is through the *Flash Player plugin*. ... Until the end of 2020, Adobe
will remain committed to its *Flash* software
