Its not that much trouble to go back (at least on Mac - on PC it most
likely a PIA)

On Mac Locate the SeaMonkey 2.0.6 download, down load it. Next move
2.0.7 to Trash but don't empty as yet.

now open the .dmg file and drag the Icon of SeaMonkey to icon of the
application folder. The Application will be installed Open SeaMonkey and
your good to go.

It blocks ALL software installations via SeaMonkey, new add-ons and all
updates.

I'm not sure what happens if an update to SeaMonkey itself is found.
However, the Add-on Manager will give you an option (via a button) to
enable installation when you want to install a new or updated add-on.

I just recently enabled the check for updates to installed add-ons
without enabling automatic installation. This way, I won't have to keep
checking the Web site of each add-on. When I'm notified of an update, I
plan to visit the add-on's site and download the .xpi or .jar file and
then install from my local drive.

Bug #526150 describes a hole in the design of the Add-On Manager
relative to disabling automatic installations. The Add-On Manager gives
the user the option to enable installation when automatic installations
were disabled. However, the Add-On Manager does not then provide any
option to disable automatic installations after the current installation
is completed.

The bug report for #526150 was closed as WontFix. Per comments in
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=526150, a new Add-On
Manager is pending. With it, automatic checking for updates will then
result in automatic installation of those updates. I am attempting to
reopen the bug report.

My screen shot shows that I/you can turn off auto Update of SeaMonkey
but it leave auto update of extension on, or I could have turn it off
as well, or turn on update extensions and leave SeaMonkey. I have mine
set to turn off updating of SeaMonkey because of s decision Mozilla has
made concerning HTML In Newsgroups.
