With 138 XHTML errors and 274 CSS errors on the page in question, how can you be sure that the problem is in Gecko 1.8 (used by SM 1.1.x and FF 2.x)? It's also possible that Gecko 1.9 (used by FF 3 and SM 2) merely guesses the Web author's intent differently when errors are found. Note that the page is quite readable with SeaMonkey 1.1.15 if I disable CSS. Thus, those 274 CSS errors must indeed contribute to the problem. -- David E. Ross http://www.rossde.com/. Ed before you complain to the webmaster, know a few things: it works for FF 3.0.7, but not FF 2.0.0.20, so I'm going to make a guess that it also works in SM 2. it also doesn't work in k-meleon, which is based on FF 2 code, which SM 1.1.x is also based on. Therefore, only my guess, its something to do with old coding that these programs are using that the site doesn't work with. -- *IMPORTANT*: Sorry folks, but I cannot provide email help Emails to me may become public Notice: This posting is protected under the Free Speech Laws, which applies everywhere in the FREE world, except for some strange reason, not to the mozilla.org newsgroup servers, where your posting may get you banned. Thanks Stan The www.realtor.com page has 138 XHTML errors and 274 CSS errors. Garbage in = garbage out. Many browsers -- including both IE and Gecko-based browsers -- are designed to guess what a Web author means when errors are found. Some guess one way, and other guess another way, and yet others guess even a different way. It might be a coincidence that IE guessed correctly. Or it might be that the page was designed by someone who doesn't know that IE is NOT the only browser. I suspect the latter since the Web server is a Micro$oft product running on a PC under Windows. If I go to my SeaMonkey menu bar and select [View Use Style None], the text is no longer overlapped. Yes, the problem lies within the Web site. -- David E.
