Great release! Getting strange CPU spikes when opening
javascript-intense pages. Also, after a few hours of browsing, my GPU
use spikes to over 40% as well. I somewhat remember running into these
problems in a Firefox nightly awhile ago, so perhaps this is just some
holdover bug from back then. Will test against 2.49 tomorrow to make
sure that this was not always the case. Win10 x86.

Re: SeaMonkey v2.49.1 is out!

2017-11-04 Thread bdelmee

Please do not steal the developers' thunder.
I find things confusing enough between the lack of announcement
for betas and the unofficial / contributed builds.

Having said that, I have been using 2.49.1 candidate 4 for a couple
days. Looks very solid, except for
- on win32, some passwords seem to have been "forgotten" so I get
prompted for them (not all, though)
- on linux amd64, tabs look huge and indistinct, but that is a trend
i most probably have to blame on GTK3

As usual a big, big heartfelt THANK YOU to all developers!

ps: to answer someone else's question in this thread, there is a
version of lightning for thunderbird 52 that seems to work fine with
SM 2.49.1 in my limited testing

I installed it and found NO problems. I really appreciate the work of
the unpaid developers. I definitely do not object to waiting a long
time between versions because it means getting a good product.

Note that I will likely stop updating when XPI extensions are no longer
supported. I have 22 extensions installed.
* 4 restore capabilities that the Mozilla developers removed from Gecko
and Toolkit (because they think they know better than users whzt the
users really want)
* 10 implement capabilities that I use frequently (some of which have
open RFE bug reports requesting the capabilities)
* 1 is PrefBar, which stands alone as possibly the most important
extension of all
* the rest I use occasionally and find quite useful when I need them
I might resume updating if replacement Webextensions become available.

Anyone know if the ReminderFox extension syncing to Google Calendar

success. 2.48 would give auth error when syncing
