Hi,
I'm on imac-Intel too, and it works fine.

Just don't forget to give permission to come in, in mac Firewall, and 
permission to get out, in Little Snitch (if you use it... but you should 
anyway) in this case, the permission is : Vidalia : Allow connexions 
via Tor (indicate the path  : /Applications//#Whatever folder you 
use/#/ Vidalia.app = /usr/bin/tor)


Some routers have also to be given permission...
