Re: [freenet-support] Please, help.
Hi Peter, There should be an uninstaller in the Freenet installation folder, which should be in your home folder unless you installed it somewhere else. Running the uninstaller should take care of it for you. Alternatively, you can do it manually: make sure Freenet isn’t running, then delete the folder where it was installed. You may also need to remove the cron entry that starts Freenet when your machine boots. To do that, open a terminal and type “crontab -e”, then carefully delete any line that refers to Freenet. > On Sep 2, 2016, at 10:16 PM, um...@yahoo.com wrote: > > Hello. > > Can you please advise, how to uninstall your \Freenet from my Linux Mint 18 > Sarah Xfce? > Thanx in advance for any help. > > Peter. > ___ > Support mailing list > Support@freenetproject.org > http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support > Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support > Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe
Re: [freenet-support] PLEASE HELP FREENET ISSUES
by the way one guy asked for my logs so i sent him that plus i think it was the same guy i sent all my settings and system info to, but i got a msg saying that email was too big and was awaiting moderation i had no idea there was a size limit to an email , how would freenet work without the wrapper the thought of that confuses me but ok, please help, i really would like to enjoy it instead of trying to another thing that confuses me is how would anyone know what to do with the advanced settings, if theyre something that shouldnt be messed with, maybe they shouldnt be there, or as i suggested maybe you could have some kind of, as i said, beginner to pro advanced configuration guide along with the program when its downloaded so everyone can enjoy the innerinternet instead of trying to, im done jabbering just need help i want it to work good On May 18, 2015 2:31 AM, Dave Larsen hoppameiste...@gmail.com wrote: no the wrapper is working just fine i sent another email saying how exactly i have it set up my system info thats exactly what i am trying to figure out i have plenty of space to use and i just need to know what to do to increase the amount of peers cuz i had it set where there was no advanced settings that i changed, but i wasnt getting any peers so i changed a few things things sped up a bit and i was starting to get more peers, was averaging about 30 when running i have it going rite now trying to dl a file 64 peers , is there a way you can see the other emails i sent i was pretty upset stuff kept going wrong am still hopeful for Advanced setting tips it obviously works better if its configured in an advanced way ive seen the difference just crashing and java errors please if you can look at my other emails and instead of having me go with default please i have the room and speed for it On May 18, 2015 1:27 AM, Bert Massop bert.mas...@gmail.com wrote: On 18-05-15 00:34, Dave Larsen wrote: OK IVE TOLD YOU MY SYSTEM AND HOW I HAVE IT SET UP WAS JUST TELLING WHAT PROGRAMS I DO HAVE WHICH ARENT MANY. , YOU SAY TO GHANGE MY CONFIFURATION SETTINGS WITH THE DETAILS I GAVE YOU [configuration omitted] SO HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SET THIS , IF THIS IS WRONG HOW SHOULD I HAVE IT SET ACCORDING TO MY SYSTEM DETAILS AND THIS PLEASE HELP ME YOU SAID SOMETHING BOUT NOT HAVING ENOUGH MEMORY I HAVE OVER 300 G LEFT ON MY HDD HOW DO I NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY **'Maximum memory usage' in the 'Configuration → Core settings' menu, under the 'Wrapper' heading. The restarts you experience are in fact crashes due to Freenet running out of memory. Your node seems to be configured it in such a way that it requires more system memory than it's assigned. Please try to increase your node memory assignment. The setting to change is 'Maximum memory usage' in the 'Configuration → Core settings' menu, under the 'Wrapper' heading. but the worst one is, i have a file complete but i get a ; java.io.EOFException, for 99% of what i have successfully downloaded , not too successful Probably your downloads got corrupted due to the frequent unexpected restarts. If you no longer experience random restarts, and still encounter download corruption, please let us know. 4TH, i am doing this on brand new, 500gb 7200 rpm hdd, 4 g ram, 60mbps up, and download wifi speed, (my computer reads 72mbps for that), freenet detects 59mbps for my up and dl speeds, no data limit, no bandwidth limit, Your WiFi connection speed is not a measure for the actual connection bandwidth of your internet connection. Unless you have a 100 Mbit fiber connection to your ISP, your actual upload bandwidth is unlikely to be this high. Note that Freenet cannot always reliably detect your internet connection bandwidth. If you wish to know yours, there are several services out there to test your bandwidth (http://speedtest.net for example). i have dedicated 100 gib of space for the datastore, and 20gb each, for the 3 other stores, i have my ram cache, (instead of the 43mib it wants to give me), i set it up to 240 mib. Having a large RAM cache reduces the amount of memory usable by the rest of Freenet. If you insist on having a large RAM cache, please do increase your memory limit as explained above. i also have 1 3rd party system cleaning program and one ram boost program. RAM boost programs don't help performance. Even Windows is quite good at managing system memory nowadays. That said, running one shouldn't dramatically decrease your system performance either. Re: [freenet-support] Please help: We need more seednodes!
Until about three years ago, I had a fileserver running 24/7 (including 0.5 version of Freenet), on a static IP, fiber-optic, but the electricity's gone up ever since, and my needs have changed. At the moment, I could even offer up to around 6400 Kbytes/s incoming and 500 Kbytes/s outgoing (eventually 500/500 should I decide to downgrade). But the catch is, I'd have to find someone to sponsor the electricity costs for that computer to be put back into action. ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe

Re: [freenet-support] Please help
HI Jonathan. I'm very new to Freenet and have the same problem. One Freenet piece of advice told me to go to: http://www.whatismyip.com/ That will tell you what your IP is and you then insert (copy/paste), that URL number into the Temporary IP address hint window. I haven't done that yet myself as I am trying to uninstall Freenet and put in the latest Build, which I think I have finally downloaded. Post back if you would about how that works, i.e. what it does, results, etc, if you would be so kind. Good luck.
