You need Java 1.6. Recent versions of OS/X include it but older versions you 
might need to download it.

Hi, did you allow java through Little Snitch?
it has to be :

Allow connexions:

java.freenet.node.NodeStarter

By the way, if you are using firefox, you should use it only for Freenet
or any other browser for instance, like Opera, but dedicated to Freenet.
