 Well, as I said, with network-manager, or equivalent, it is
 trivial.

 Without, you probably need a section in
 /etc/network/interfaces like:

 auto eth1
 iface eth1 inet dhcp
 address 192.168.0.200
 netmask 255.255.255.0

Thanks for your patience! - And now I can access the Internet
from openSUSE 11.2 using the Freerunner.
I tried to document in the Wiki what is needed if you do not use the
NetworkManager. I hope it's ok:

Thanks!

I tried the first step of the FSO method:

$ mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.onetworkd /org/freesmartphone/Network
org.freesmartphone.Network.StartConnectionSharingWithInterface usb0
Using **pending_return in dbus_connection_send_with_reply_setup() without
pending_setup is deprecated and strongly discouraged

Is this ok?

The remaining description is too short, at least for me :-)
I have dumped NetworkManager (during this discusssion),
so is there a description without NetworkManager?

Looks good. Apart from the dbus nagging (bugs that don't seem to get
fixed, so we might as well disable the nagging), no error message.

 The remaining description is too short, at least for me :-)

Probably, because there's nothing else to do but this step. Use DHCP now
to connect to your device, that should be it.

 Hi all.

 I'm sorry. I searched around but could not find the right page:

 How can I setup the Freerunner (SHR of 2009-09) as a modem for a laptop
 (so that the Freerunner acts like a surfstick or similar)?

Depends on what communication method between FR and laptop you want to
use too. Look on
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Manually_using_Bluetooth#Using_Neo.27s_connection_from_PC
and http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Tethering

I've just updated the

http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Tethering

page to include the FSO method, which is by far the easiest.
