it to the UK and took care of all the import/export paperwork.

Re: [Sursound] The BBC & Quadrophony in 1973

2017-01-07 Thread Bob Burton
1997 "The year had started and finished with Mike (Oldfield) collaborating
with David Bedford. To finish the year Mike played on the title track on
Bedford's 5th studio LPInstructions for Angels (V2090). Surprisingly, the
track on which Mike appeared was recorded live at Worcester Cathedral on
the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio. This track is quite
breathtaking, with Bedford playing the cathedrals organ and Mike playing
guitar, the natural acoustics of the cathedral make it sound quite awesome.
Finally, the complete LP was mixed at Mike's Througham studio in BBC Matrix
H Quad which was also stereo compatible."

Re: [Sursound] [allowed] Re: New FOA recorder

2016-09-07 Thread Bob Burton
The recorder is no problem.

The JoeCo Blackbox Recorder BBR1MP

24 channel, 24 bit, 96K with excellent mic pre's.

Frequently used on battery powered sound carts here in Hollywood. The
channels you are not using are shut off, giving you longer battery life.

Re: [Sursound] Using Ambisonic for a live streaming VR project

2016-06-02 Thread Bob Burton
Very excited to find out to do this.

In my research, youtube must render the ambisonic files before playing, so
when you live stream, in is stereo.

When you play back later, it can be ambisonic.

Is there someone else who streams ambisonic live?

Re: [Sursound] Sursound Digest, Vol 91, Issue 19

2016-02-20 Thread Bob Burton

Big mistake on NAB's part.

As part of their mission statement, to provide "continued education for
broadcasters at all stages of their career."

If the enineers at NAB wanted to honestly evaluate VR audio, the would need
to include Ambisonics.

Ambiosonics included in the last AES convention's VR audio sessions.
