*Outreach Coordinator/Director*

The Community Science Institute (CSI), a growing nonprofit environmental
organization and certified water quality testing lab based in Ithaca, NY,
seeks to fill an unexpectedly vacant position to maintain and grow existing
programs as well as develop new opportunities for outreach around the
general theme of actionable water quality data.

CSI’s mission is to foster understanding, protection and sustainable management
of water resources at the local level by partnering with groups of
community volunteers to monitor streams and lakes. Monitoring results,
which are EPA-certified, are disseminated publicly through our free online
data archive at http://database.communityscience.org. We currently partner
with 35 volunteer groups comprising over 200 volunteers to monitor roughly
3,000 square miles of drainage area across the Finger Lakes and Southern
Tier regions of New York. In addition to our volunteer stream monitoring
partnerships, CSI serves as the largest certified testing lab in Tompkins
County for drinking water. Clients include businesses and agencies as well
as private homeowners. The Outreach Coordinator/Director position provides
occasional administrative and educational support for CSI’s certified lab.
