SewGreen Announces 2018 Reuse Fashion Challenge
Designers and makers of apparel are invited to enter a fashion contest that challenges them to create an outfit from completely reused and upcycled materials. SewGreen will provide the materials from its wide selection of donated fabrics. The contest deadline is April 7. Anyone age 14 and up may apply to enter. A small group of judges will determine the winner based on innovative use of materials, construction techniques, and aesthetics. The top prize includes two luxury coach round-trip tickets from Ithaca to New York City, gift certificates for downtown stores, and 20 hours of free studio space. The winner will be featured in the Reuse Challenge runway show during Ithaca Fashion Week, April 9 to 14, organized by the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.
