Ok John,
yes I have seen your greatly inspirational sketches, and have been looking
on them at many times at odd hours of the night.hehehehe
I am working on the pictures to send you. I am glad to hear that the Bab

Hallo Walt,
One problem is trying to get rid of soap which smells like fried fish
or the local McDonalds. A person can only use so much themselves. I
have yet to see a method of deodorizing the soap or reasonably masking
the scent.

Todd,
Are you allowing the BD to settle up over that time, or are you doing meth
recovery as soon as the drum is filled? I was wondering how people were
dealing with the meth recovery on a smallish level. I will be getting
some plans for a solar still using 55gal drums and I am wondering if
It may be possible to heat the glycerine to a high temperature (200C perhaps)
to remove some volatiles. Then try filtering the glycerine through activated
carbon (charcoal)
I wouldn't heat over an open flame though without a hood. (alcohol fumes)

Hello Jack
Liked your list of BD vehicles, great! Why only B50 in the boat?
Glycerine that is. And I am not really sure what to do with it. I
am making about 350 gallons of fuel a week now and coming out with
roughly 40-45 gallons of glycerine to boot. Up until this point I

James,
Almost no one is dealing with methanol recovery at the home scale.
Best time to recover it is after FFA/glycerin recovery if the fertilizer and
FFA (fuel) co-products are going to be used elsewhere. Alcohol recovery at
this stage also means a lesser volume that has to pass over the
In the interest of not processing a batch of WVO that may have a FFA con. of

Yes, I believe it's called titration. See the JtF website for instructions
on how to do it.

Thanks for the responses. I really like the idea of sawdust and glycerine
briquettes - We once thought of making charcoal briquettes out of casuarina
equisetefolia wood that is over abundant here as an exotic invasive. Perhaps
we could market both? We have lots of
