as I understand it from talking to the plumbing folks even if you only
have a 3/4 outlet you will still get a better flow rate on 1 plumbing
(I made this mistake when upgrading the plumbing in my house).

If you do not have frost for extended period of time during the winter and
rain water is abailable, my opinion is to consider the sugar cane by its
productivity. If the region is covered by snow during the winter, the sugar
cane will dye and you would not have the yearly harvest
